A recent press release by the North Dakota Aeronautics Commission highlights an increase in over-all state boardings, up 19% compared to this time last year. Fargo continued to board the most passengers, and Minot increased 53%. Williston had its largest October on record. United and Delta began offering service to Williston in November, providing travelers with four airlines. With Minot, Grand Forks, and Fargo also adding service to Denver, numbers will be increasing even more.
Joshua Simmers, Aviation Projects Manager, said, “North Dakota breaks a record every month. We’re not aware of any other place in the nation experiencing significant growth in aviation – certainly not at this capacity.” The most significant demand is in the western portion of the state, but the growth is state-wide as Fargo and Grand Forks also experience significant increases. “Aviation is not just a barometer of activity, it enables activity.”
The North Dakota Aeronautics Commission serves all aviation interest in the state.
